Abstract

This study investigates how digital exhibition techniques, commonly used in exhibition spaces,
can be integrated with social interaction. Technological tools and virtual environments make
the exhibition experience multilayered and interactive for visitors, but they are mostly used in
a visitor and system-oriented way. However, exhibition spaces are public meeting places, and
visitor experience models state that the experience develops within a social context. Within
this framework, the research follows a method based on literature analysis and proposes a
conceptual interface model. This exhibition space proposal aims to create a collective urban
memory in Istanbul that brings together artists and visitors through the use of an interface. The
proposed interface model aims to create an interactive base where visitors can engage with
each other's experiences in addition to the content. Therefore, the exhibition space is
reconsidered as an integrated structure that supports participatory and collective experience.
